Geography: A large, rocky peninsula characterized by numerous archipelagos. Its waters are noted for their bright turquoise color, a result of the region's white sand coastlines.
Culture & Economy: Arune is a major seafaring power, long at odds with its enemy, Margalle, from whom it has had to defend its lands and seas for decades. The empire is known for its magnificent pearls and "sea glass"—a type of coral with glass-like branches that, when broken, create glittering beaches.
Notable Kingdoms & Locales:
- Mirror Isles: The ruling kingdom of Arune, from which the empire takes its heraldry. It is so named for the perfectly serene surface of its central bay and atolls. Historically, the Mirror Isles developed the most powerful warships, which they used to win supremacy over their neighbors.
- Theastone: The capital city of Arune.
- Eulennion: A kingdom in Arune, its coast known as the Forlone Coast.
- Arctuova: A kingdom in Arune, containing the town of Imrath and the Heaweald.
- Thulondor: A kingdom in Arune, occupying the flow-ward peninsula of Arune.
