Overview

Profile

Where No'vel is the god of birth, of the new things created from change and upheaval, and Reaper the god of death, of things lost to change and upheaval, Phoenix is a symbol of endurance, of holding on fast to oneself against adversity and refusing to change.

The Phoenix is, according to some, a creation of Ember's. An undying fire given form. No one knows how The Phoenix truly came to be, or how it has the power to burn unceasing. Its symbolism is powerful, and many look to it as a sign of hope and resilience in dark times.

While it may not truly meet the qualifications for godhood, most people count Phoenix as a deity because of its power and its ties to Ember.

Depictions

Appearance

There are occasional reports of people seeing a streak of winged fire in the sky or hearing the screech of the fire bird, but few ever see the creature up close. It is depicted burning read, with long feathers and blazing eyes, large enough to rival the greatest of dragons.

Holy Symbol

Those who champion the phoenix express their devotion by donning the red feather as a symbol.

Influences

Goals

The phoenix wants what it symbolizes- freedom, resilience, and rebirth from suffering.

Divine Relationships

Ember and Phoenix's relationship is unclear. If Ember created the being, or even had a hand in its existence, is unknown. Likewise, no one knows if the Phoenix reports to them or not. The two at least seem thematically and idealistically aligned.
