Description
The Inner Planes are the planes which The Ethereal Plane overlaps with. They are the planes which contain material substance.
Location:
The Inner Planes lie inside The Outer Planes, making up the center of The Universe.
The Ethereal Plane and The Astral Plane both run through these planes.
Contents:
The Elemental Planes make up the borders of The Inner Planes and the beginning of material substance.
These surround The Shadow Wild planes, which itself surrounds The Material Plane.
Inhabitants:
While some creatures travel the planes, most remain in their birth plane their entire lives. Elementals, Fey, Humanoids, and Beasts are native to these planes.
Rulers:
Being a collection of planes, The Inner Planes have no one ruler. Each plane has its own pantheon, except for The Material Plane, which is represented by Ember in divine matters.
Origin
The Inner Planes formed sometime after The Outer Planes had settled and sorted themselves out, with the Elemental Planes forming from the warped energies of The Outer Planes which had become too still and static to belong, and The Ethereal Plane forming to support the life and death cycle of these planes' new inhabitants.
