Description
The Abyss exists in a state of constant war and chaos. Alliances and armies form and dissolve constantly, the plane and its inhabitants opposed to any stability and order. This instability is a small blessing, as it hampers demons' effectiveness in achieving their end of bring the world to a state of violent anarchy. Most demon threats take the form of powerful demons coercing weaker creatures into service, gaining enough power to form a concerning force.

The Abyss sits with the rest of The Neighboring Planes in the middle ring of The Outer Planes.
Neighbors:
The Abyss sits between Soular and Pandemonium.
Inhabitants:
Demons inhabit this plane, seeking to make the rest of the universe in their image- violent anarchy stripped of rationality and community.
Rulers:
No one really rules The Abyss, at least not for any notable length of time. Demons vie for power, never happy while under another's rule but always wanting everyone else under their rule.
Origin
In the early days of the Universe, the conceptual energies of Soular and Pandemonium ran together, combing aspects of both planes and creating new deities and celestials to embody those aspects.
