The concept of Constructs originated with Dracar, and many are thus also Celestials, Dracar's will-less, perfect servants of order serving in their war against free will. A few occasionally find themselves tainted with spark of free will during their service and flee to The Material Plane before Dracar can correct or destroy them. This has inspired Humanoid inventors to begin crafting automatons through mechanics and magic. Magically animated objects are also considered Constructs (objects animated without any use of magic are simply machines, and not considered creatures because they lack soul).

Constructs are separated from other creature types by the relationship between the creature's body and the creature's soul. For constructs, the body is an empty vessel the soul fills, rather than an extension of the soul. As a consequence, this means it is usually easier to transfer the soul of a construct from one vessel to another than it is for another creature type to do so.

Relations of other Races
Dracar's will-less Mechanical Soldiers are regarded with an equal measure of fear and pity, but many respect the escaped Tainted Soldiers.
