Description

Respite exists to keep the other planes from destroying both each other and themselves. The plane resists the natural order's inclination towards total destruction, having the most involvement with planes outside itself. They help Pandemonium defend against Mechanus' armies, attempt to regulate Arcadia's ethic-less experiments which would see the rest of the universe dissected on a slab, and step in when a demon or devil becomes a too great a threat. They do not police The Outer Planes so much as doctor them, struggling to keep them in a functioning state. The plane is little more than a space for organization and planning, as by nature fulfillment of the plane's purpose requires its denizens work outside the plane.

Origin

One of the last of The Outer Planes to be created, Respite was formed from the colliding energies of Mechanus and Pandemonium, driven by the maturing universe's desperate desire to survive itself.
