Creatures native to Shadowfell are known as Shadow fey. They are creatures of rot and decay, all color bleached from them. Unlike Wild Fey, Shadow Fey deeply value the past, yet are often too focused on what has come before to flourish in the present. Shadow Fey can be equated to a stagnant pool of water, perhaps once a beautiful and prized drinking spot, but soured by years of stillness and stagnancy, clinging to what is gone.

The first Undead were Shadow Fey.

Relations of other Races
Shadow Fey war eternally with Wild Fey, their fundamental opposites. They are also in conflict with Oblivion, clinging to rotten bodies and rotten concepts they refuse to let go of.

On The Material Plane, Shadow Fey prefer The Underdarks, where long held resentment of Ember rots entire societies unable or unwilling to deal productively with and move on from past wrongs.
