Description
The Underdarks do not refer to one unified region, but rather to all of the Underdarks which exist on En's scattered continents. They are deep underground regions, often interacting little with sunlight dwellers.
This is a reference page which establishes general information applicable to all Underdark regions, but like the surface continents, individual areas vary widely. The information given here is generally true across En, but may not hold for a given area.

Cultural/Religious
The Shadowfell Pantheon is the most popular pantheon of worship in The Underdarks, seconded by The Feywild Pantheon.
Ember is universally despised.
Economic/Resources
Underdarks are rich with metal and ores, many of which can only be found in these deep underground regions.
Military/Defensive
Life in Underdarks tends to be difficult and dangerous. Entrances are guarded fiercely against outsider incursion.
Geography
Some Underdark regions are cold and hard, cramped tunnels of stone and metals with heavy, noxious air. These Underdark regions tend towards Shadowfellian values, inspired by the antilife rot of their surroundings. In these cold places that show no mercy to their inhabitants, resent against the sunlight dwellers grows strong.
Other Underdark regions are vibrant and wonderful, wide-open caverns illuminated by glowing mushrooms and shimmering rivers. Life in these places remains dangerous, but inhabitants tend toward Feywild values, inspired by the natural wonders around them.
