Overview
Profile
The God of Scarcity is an oversimplified title. Calyus moreso embodies the fear of scarcity, the belief that resources are limited, that for any being to have something necessitates that another must lose it. They are driven by an obsession to own and control, to possess things and consequently to prevent others from possessing things.
Calyus is Regent of the Hells. They uphold order within The Hells, and for their services those within their domain pay a portion of their earnings, growing ever more rich and powerful.
Before The Deposition of Ishthal, Calyus served as Ishthal's treasurer. They are the only demigod to have ever ascended to godhood.
Depictions
Appearance
Calyus is often depicted as a middle-aged individual with waist length white hair, woven with strands of gold. They dress in light layers of clothing, deceptively plain at first glance, but a closer look reveals they are decorated with precious metals and gemstones and intricately woven designs.
Holy Symbol
Those who wish to reveal a worship of Calyus often do so discreetly. An oval inside of an oval is a symbol commonly known to Calyus's following as her mark.
Influences
Goals
Calyus wishes to grow their power as ruler of The Hells. The more they expand the reach of The Hells, the more they ultimately gain. Their only interest with others is how they might be served by them.
Divine Relationships
Calyus's greatest fear is the return of Ishthal and his retaking of her throne.
Calyus is tolerated as if nothing else they have never almost destroyed the universe. They are not one to have friends but they do keep up diplomatic relations with some other deities.
Reaper and No'vel are fundamentally opposed to Calyus and The Hells' soul taking but talks with Calyus to end or alter the practice have never gone anywhere.
