Halfling

Basic Information

The comforts of home are the goals of most halflings' lives: a place to settle in peace and quiet, far from marauding monsters and clashing armies. Others form nomadic bands that travel constantly, lured by the open road and the wide horizon to discover the wonders of new lands and peoples. Halflings work readily with others, and they are loyal to their friends, whether halfling or otherwise. They can display remarkable ferocity when their friends, families, or communities are threatened.

Relations of other Races
Sharing a patron goddess, short stature, and dedication to community, Halflings and Gnomes often form communities together. For their loyalty and jolliness, most any community is glad to count halflings among their number.

Physical Appearance
Halflings are short folk with pointed ears. Often mistaken for gnomes, halflings have less prominent body hair and less rounded features.

Myths and Lore

Creation Myth
Inspired by her creation of the gnomes, Hestia attempted to create a race all her own, leading to the first Halflings. While perhaps the halflings are not all that creatively different from the gnomes in appearance, they are nevertheless perfectly capable of setting themselves apart.
