Basic Information
After The Lightbrining, the Kenku were the first light dwelling race to be created. Created by Whist as the first birdfolk, the kenku filled the newly lit skies, driving out the dark dwelling races. However, Trivia cursed the new species, stripping them of their wings and granting them mimicry abilities, meant to remind the unfortunate birdfolk that they were nothing more than mimics of the life they sought to replace.
Nowadays, the kenku have little in common with their sky-warrior ancestors. With their mimicry abilities and expert memories, they excel as messengers, repairmen, and scribes.

Myths and Lore
Creation Myth
When first cursed, Trivia, in her wrath, stripped the kenku of their ability to speak. They were left only with the ability to mimic, only able to regain the powers of speech by listening to and mimicking the dark dwelling races they had terrorized. Whist, furious, nearly launched a war campaign against Shadowfell, before Trivia eased the constraints of the curse, returning the kenku's ability to speak, and Monet agreed to bless the birdfolk with great memories as consolation for their lost flight.
