As the forests surrounding most of Mistwood Lake begin to thin they lend themselves to grassy knolls, meadows, and danger. The mists have created a feeling of enchantment that betrays the senses from what lurks within. Goblins frequently patrol, while the other denizens hunt as normal. Mutations are becoming more and more frequent and the beasts and behemoths are finding themselves changed. The further you travel in the thinner the trees become as the remnants of survivors have cleared the woods to make their bastions against whatever may come.
Smell
A deep breath in The Bite comes with the crisp freshness of a brisk morning. Chilling the lungs. A rich, earthy aroma permeates the area, particularly after rainfall. Notes of a delicate floral scent can be picked up to those who are paying attention, but most of the plant life belongs to the mushrooms and fungi.
Hear
The chittering of small rodents, squirrels, rabbits, and the chirping of birds lend to a peaceful ambience that is frequently disrupted by the terrible shrieking of those suffering from the mutations the mists cause. The marching footsteps of local tribes and the drums of battle echo through the trees if you find yourself caught up in the internal fighting of the goblins local to the area. Be careful not to get caught up in the serene atmosphere. You never know what the last sound you hear is.
Climate
The mornings come with a chill in the air that lend themselves to warmer afternoons as the sun rises. Evenings and late into the night the mists grow cold.
History
The Bite has long been home to various clans and tribes of goblins, giants, and more. It's serene temperatures and plentiful vegetation lent itself to a prosperous ecosystem. That is until the mists rolled in and started to corrupt the denizens of this once peaceful wood. Now the local populace finds themselves at war with each other over whatever resources they can find to stay alive another day.
