Dark and ever growing, countless vines criss cross and tangle amongst thick overgrowth and thick gossamer webs. Fern and Fauna are in constant competition, only the strongest, cleverest and most ruthless creatures and plants may survive here. Amidst dark trunks may lie any number of exotic insects or large predators. The forest itself is alive, and at constant war with itself.
Smell
Earthy, Moldy and bold. The scent of rich soils mix with the sweet sickness of death and decay. The Webwoods smell of vibrant life and rotting death at the same time.
Hear
A wild and violent jungle. The roar of predators, the flight of birds, the swaying of strong and thick branches constantly permeates the landscape.
Climate
Humid and thick most days. The forest team with dense life which is aided by thick rains and sudden showers. Most rains blow in suddenly from the west.
History
Those that have returned from the Webwoods report grim news. Thick woods teeming with wildlife and a constant feeling of being watched. Sudden disappearances and lost expeditions are the most common. Few who have entered the forests once volunteer to return. Should miasma reclaim parts of the webwoods, cleared paths seem to disappear as new plants and vines spring up in the soil where old trails lay. Humanoid tribes have been glimpsed, it is believed Centaurs and Satyrs call the Webwoods their home, but those who have made contact with them have failed to return.
The wild jungle is full of danger and tribes that have been forced to survive against both miasma and monster. Those who enter the Webwood face peril and predator alike.
Recent Events
The Satyr Tribe known as "The Crimson Horn" have taken up permanent residence within Burning Boulder alongside the Citizenry. There is a truce between our factions. They have agreed to provide an audience with the Spring Court once the drow & spider threat is more contained.
Drow have attacked all safe havens at least once taking prisoners on their raids.
