Edwinn's Claim: As Talon’s eldest son and a figure beloved by the common people, Edwinn has garnered significant support from the Church for his piety. His ability to connect with the populace and his demonstrations of faith have made him a beacon of hope for those yearning for a ruler grounded in morality and humility.

Secret: Edwinn possesses an ancient clawed gauntlet, forged of dark metal that seems to absorb the light around it. Etched with runes in a language he cannot read, the gauntlet grants him the ability to amplify his healing magic but at a cost (Reduce max HP and heal triple that amount)—it siphons a small amount of vitality from him or those nearby each time it is used. When worn, the gauntlet feels alive, its fingers twitching faintly as if longing to grasp something beyond Edwinn’s control.

Edwinn's Secret:

  • Gauntlet: An ancient clawed gauntlet, forged from dark metal that absorbs surrounding light. It is etched with runes in a language Edwinn cannot read.

  • Abilities: Amplifies healing magic, but reduces Edwinn's max HP and heals triple the amount. The gauntlet siphons a small amount of vitality from Edwinn or those nearby each time it is used.

  • Appearance: To others, the gauntlet appears normal when worn. However, it feels alive, with its fingers twitching faintly, as if longing to grasp something beyond Edwinn’s control.

  • History: Edwinn does not remember where he found the gauntlet, only that it came to him when he turned 18.

  • Reason for Secrecy: Edwinn fears that if the Church of the Unbroken discovers its power, they may take it away. He has kept it hidden for fear of losing its usefulness.

Edwinn's Mission History:

Age 45 (1103 AR):

Returns home and starts the events of the campaign.

Age 40 (1099 AR) Mission 4

This mission back was much more political than the others and Edwinn was very much against this mission, however bound by loyalty to his king (his father) he went in the name of the crown. This mission was a forced envoy of the Church and crown. Edwinn did not come as a cleric nor as a friend and kin of the Nornathi but rather as the voice of the king. He was sent as the liaison now with his new title as Diplomatic Envoy of Ederia, his job was to bring trade with the Nornathi people while also discussing possible deals and even the potential of using the Nornathi land to host some of Ederias soldiers and envoy to explore and expand their knowledge and territory past the lands of Nornathi.

The Nornathi people were not happy with this, since Edwinn had basically been one of them at this point in time. The change up from Nornathi ally and kin to messenger of the crown did not sit well with them and left a bad taste in their mouths.

This mission technically lasted a year but Edwinn stayed for an additional 4 to be with his wife and child.

Age 39 (1098 AR):

Home.

Age 34 (1093 AR): Mission 3

Edwinn returns to the Nornathi people on a shorter mission this time. This mission technically lasted 2 years and its sole purpose was to cleanse a once sacred ground of evil spirits so that the Nornathi people could lay their dead to rest in peace. The mission was successful. HOWEVER Edwinn stayed for an extra 3 years.

During this time Edwinn and Astrid had a daughter and named her Freya

Age 29 (1087 AR):

Home.

Age 28 (1086 AR): Mission 2

With the trust of the Nornathi people, the Young Wolf returned. This mission was specifically to strengthen relations and begin to teach the Nornathi people of the culture and lore of Edaria while also there to learn about the culture and lore of the Nornathi people.

During this mission Edwinn also spent a lot more time with Astrid and on the 4th year of the mission would ask her to marry him. She said yes.

Age 27 (1085 AR):

Home.

Age 22 (1080 AR): Mission 1

This is the first mission the Church of the Unbroken sets foot on Nornathi land. The Nornathi people "welcomed them" but the tensions between the people and the crown were evident. The mission was to gain the trust of the people and spread not only the assistance of healing and the churchs word but also to strengthen the small bond that the Nornathi people had with the Kingdom of Ederia.

The mission did not go as expected and the mission eventually took them to the sitting crown of Nornathi. The king spoke to the church and told them, in order to gain their trust and respect they must do something for the Nornathi people, something worth their trust and respect.

Edwinn being naive offered any service they wished, he would have it done as son of the king. With his word, the king of the Nornathi people accepted Edwinns offer and told him to go and kill a Hag that had been tormenting his people, a suicide mission known by the Nornathi, but to Edwinn an opportunity.

The head of the church told Edwinn it was suicide but Edwinn refused to believe that, again due to his naive and young mind. Edwinn told the head of the church it must be done by order of the king and took a small group of men to get the job done.

When approaching, the group of men heard voice and got scared, Edwinn determined sent them back to camp and pressed onward himself.

Edwinn came face to face with the hag and by sheer luck and magic he killed the hag with a very large help from the gauntlet he possesed, which terrifed him afterwards. However Edwinn returned to the king with the head of the Hag, the dead done and from that point onward gained the respect and trust of the Nornathi people, them dubbing him Young Wolf for his feet.

Afterward, Edwinn swore the other clerics to secrecy, by the order of the prince and king.

It was also later on in this mission before coming home that he met Astrid.

The Gauntlet:

  • Last Use: 23 years ago, Edwinn used the gauntlet to kill a hag. The immense power it granted him scared him, and he has not used it since.

  • Fear: Edwinn is terrified of the gauntlet's power, which he views as dangerous. He has not used it in decades, despite its potential for great benefit.

Life Growing Up in the Castle:

  • Heir to the Throne: Edwinn grew up as the firstborn and heir, striving to meet his father's expectations.

  • Education: He studied ancient history, mathematics, and political affairs, often accompanying his father to talks when allowed.

  • Mentor: His tutor, Eldrum Runetusk, taught him about the world and its complexities.

  • Martial Training: Edwinn learned the way of the blade, though this skill faded over time.

  • Cleric Training: After the death of his uncle, Edwinn dedicated himself to studying to become a cleric. At 20, he became a cleric of life and light with the Church of the Unbroken.

Wife and Daughter

Astrid Stoneheart - 40 years old (adopted daughter to the high king of Nornathi)

Nickname: Wildfire

Astrid went a very long time without a last name until the age of 18 when she got into a fight with a snow leapord and won by killing it with only a rock and her bare hands. The people of the Nornathi gave her the title RedMane not only for the color of her bright red hair but for the ferocity and heart of a lion. She was later adopted into the family of the Stonehearts and became daughter of the High King Hajrik Stoneheart
