Description
The City
Crown's Rest is a sprawling metropolis, and the seat of power of the 6 Kingdoms of Ederia home to 2.3 million people, making it one of the largest cities in the world. However, many homes remain empty as the population continues to recover from a devastating plague that halved its numbers 40 years ago. These abandoned neighborhoods lie in ruin and disarray, though King Talon is actively renovating them to welcome new inhabitants.
Despite these scars, the rest of the city stands as a magnificent testament to the fusion of architecture and magic. Tall spires reach towards the heavens, most buildings crafted from white and grey stone or the pale wood of the birch trees that flourish in the Crownlands. The city is adorned with banners of white, green, and brown, honoring House Falkrest, the reigning monarch's house.

The Keep - Dragon's End
The keep of Crown's Rest is a breathtaking fortress. It features large spires suspended in the air by the arcane mastery of House Astralor, making any assault on the royal family nearly impossible. The majority of the keep, however, is firmly rooted on the ground, fortified with large round towers equipped with arcane cannons to deter dragon attacks and thick walls capable of withstanding sieges for weeks.

Culture
The local culture has changed quite a bit over the past 40 year. From people barely leaving their homes in fear of the plague, to now, a place of life and activity. Most people are kind and courteous, but all people still want something, they just do it with a smile on their face, and depending on where you are in the city, a knife in their hand.
POIs
Dragon's End
Perched on elevated terrain facing the coast, the Main Keep is the heart of Crown's End. It is renowned for its many hidden passages, a magically enchanted labyrinthine dungeon, and several doors that have been locked with magic since well before the reign of Elendara the Usurper and have never been opened.
The Cathedral
The largest church ever built, funded by House Emberlyn, the Cathedral serves as the spiritual center of the kingdom. It houses areas of worship for all 21 gods and ensures their will is carried out truthfully. Hundreds of religious ceremonies take place daily, and thousands of people flock to the Cathedral every hour.
The Dock of Dreams
The site where Elendara gained her foothold during her siege of the city with the help of House Veltaris. It symbolizes the birth of a new dream—a nation where even the lowest among us could rise to greatness. A statue commemorating Elendara's victory stands here.
Heroes Plaza
A grand park and plaza depicting Elendara and her companions fighting a dragon that threatened the city. The statues are overgrown with moss and flowers, a condition the late Queen Elendara preferred, giving the plaza a timeless and serene quality.
The Healing Quarter
A creation of King Talon, the Healing Quarter is a well-supplied district dedicated to treating various ailments, wounds, and infections. People from all over the world come here for treatment. While the process is slow, everyone has access to medicine and care.
The People's Stream
A man-made river filled daily by the clerics of the Cathedral to provide the city with fresh, clean drinking water. Created by the late King Edemere, it quickly became a source of sickness due to improper sanitation measures. The crown has worked to conceal this truth.
The Artisan's Market
A bustling market district where artisans and craftsmen from across the kingdom and beyond showcase their wares. Known for its vibrant atmosphere and diverse offerings, the Artisan's Market is the place to find unique goods, from finely crafted jewelry to exotic spices. It serves as both a commercial hub and a cultural melting pot, reflecting the kingdom's wealth and diversity.
The Scholar's Enclave
A prestigious institution dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge and learning. The Scholar's Enclave houses a vast library, lecture halls, and research laboratories. Scholars, mages, and students from all over the kingdom come here to study various disciplines, from arcane magic to natural sciences. It stands as a beacon of enlightenment and intellectual progress in Crown's End.
Origin
Crown's Rest, now a thriving metropolis, has a storied history stretching back 800 years. Before the unification of the kingdoms, the lands were ruled by a fearsome triplet of chromatic dragons: Niderion, the Flaming Fury (red), Xantarix, Night's Death (black), and Szarris, the Serpent Tongued (green). These dragons oppressed the people for centuries, their reign marked by fear and subjugation.
The turning point came when the people, weary of their draconic overlords, banded together under the leadership of House Warrendell. This was the first house to aspire to rule the six kingdoms as one unified nation. Led by Queen Sannira Warrendell, First of Her Name, Slayer of Dragons, and Protector of the Free People of Ederia, an army of 10,000 brave souls marched to challenge the dragons. The rebellion was brutal, but ultimately successful. Out of 10,000 warriors, only 100 emerged victorious, but they had won their freedom.
Ederia was named after Sannira's father, Eddard, who had died in the rebellion but was instrumental in unifying the people under one banner. The construction of Crown's Rest began the very day of the dragons' defeat. Queen Sannira ensured that the fallen dragons would continue to serve the people in death: their scales were used as shingles for the keep, and their bones were ground to dust and mixed with the mortar that holds the keep together.
Crown's Rest stands as a monument to this hard-fought victory, a city built on the foundations of bravery, unity, and the indomitable spirit of its people.
