Description

Dragon's Bane is a legendary sword, forged from the remains of the dragons slain during the great rebellion. The blade itself is forged from steel alloyed with dragon bone marrow, giving it a unique strength and a faint, eerie glow. The crossguard is crafted from two dragon claws, intricately carved and positioned to protect the wielder's hand. The hilt features a dragon's eye, preserved in glass, which seems to shimmer with an inner fire. The leather wrap on the haft is made from dried dragon skin, providing a firm and resilient grip. The pommel is shaped like a dragon's head, made from scales, adding to the weapon's formidable appearance.

Origin

Dragon's Bane was forged at the end of the Dragon Rebellion by Marrik "Dragonkin" Emberlyn, the Master Forgemaster and the first Crownclaw Knight. Marik was also the first Wyvern Rider, renowned for his mount, which was rumored to be the offspring of a wyvern and a dragon due to its immense size. Marrik, who bore a physical deformity with part of his body covered in red dragon scales, crafted this blade specifically to slay the dragons that had dominated Ederia for 800 years. The sword was created as a symbol of liberation and a tool of vengeance against the tyrannical dragons.

History

Dragon's Bane has been passed down from ruler to ruler over the past 800 years, serving as a symbol of legitimacy for the throne. Every ruler of Ederia has wielded this sword, using it to solidify their claim to power. The only time the blade left the hands of a ruler was during the final years of Queen Sannira Warrendell's reign. She entrusted Marik Emberlyn with Dragon's Bane to ensure the death of the Dragon Tyrants' offspring. Marik embarked on a six-month mission, returning with the bloodied blade and the confirmation that the job was done.

Throughout its history, Dragon's Bane has not only been a weapon of immense power but also a symbol of the enduring spirit and unity of the people of Ederia. Its presence at the side of each ruler serves as a constant reminder of the sacrifices made and the victory won against the dragons.
