The Church of the Unbroken is an organization dedicated to bringing peace, protection, and strength to war-torn regions and to those who cannot defend themselves. Followers of this faith are committed to offering aid to the weak, defending the vulnerable, and spreading peace through resolute strength and unwavering compassion. Their core belief is that true strength lies not in aggression, but in restraint and devotion to their righteous cause.
Founding of the Church of the Unbroken
The Church of the Unbroken was founded by Xanthec Maldarian, a warrior of great renown who played a pivotal role in the Dragon Rebellion. A respected leader and strategist, Xanthec fought valiantly alongside his comrades, Marik "Dragonkin" Emberlyn and Queen Sannira Warrendell, to defeat the mighty dragon Niderion, helping to end the reign of terror brought upon the land. Despite his victory, Xanthec was deeply affected by the widespread devastation and loss of life that war had caused.
After the rebellion, Xanthec chose to lay down his weapons, turning away from violence to pursue a different kind of battle—one against the suffering caused by war. His struggle with the morality of warfare and its aftermath weighed heavily on him for the rest of his life, but he remained steadfast in his resolve to never pick up a weapon again.
Driven by his desire to heal the wounds of the world, Xanthec established the Church of the Unbroken. Its mission was to aid those harmed, displaced, or otherwise devastated by the rebellion. The church became a sanctuary for those in need, offering peace, protection, and strength to the vulnerable. Once the kingdom of Ederia began to recover from the scars of war, Xanthec expanded his efforts to neighboring nations, spreading his message of compassion and resilience.
The Church of the Unbroken stands as a testament to Xanthec's belief that true strength lies in restraint, devotion, and the protection of others. Through this organization, Xanthec’s legacy of peace endures, providing aid and guidance to those affected by conflict across the land.
