It is concluded that Laton is innocent but Chezar is the culprit. At that point Chezar has gone into hiding and swore revenge on Laton.
As a result, Laton joins the Navy
He receives special training during the invasion of Axion during which he meets Pallas
After the battle of Axion Ring that broke the defenders Laton is honorobly discharged.
He joins up with Pallas who is heading to meet someone named Barty
