To craft a map, the player character requires 8 hours of uninterrupted time per tile they want to map. A tile the character has travelled through in the past takes half the time.

Mapping a tile requires 1 piece of parchment or paper, which is consumed on usage.

The party travels at double speed within tiles that have been mapped, before modifiers; and the chance of negative encounters during travel is halved in such tiles.
