Amalia

"And thus fell the eye of the Divine upon Amalia, she who would be raised up from slave to become Their bride. From her lips would fall the Chant of Chaos and Order. At her command would the legions of righteousness fall upon the world.

Men and women of every race, warriors and mages, barbarians and kings; all would unite under her Exalted March to stem the tides of Darkness, and prevail."

Description

Amalia was a woman who rose to greatness, first as a slave, then as a prophet, war leader, and religious icon.

According to Imperial scholars, Amalia was a slave to the Eldarath, who used her blood for powerful magic rituals that enhanced his power against other races; with the help of another slave, Amalia escaped and would be rescued by the Corumians, a tribe of humans, and marry their chieftain Kertamar. During this time, the armies of infernals and celestials would pour into our world, and Amalia would begin to see herself as a conduit of the Divine, and what They required for the salvation of all people, and she was to become his Bride.

When the armies of infernals invaded Eldarath and his Dalish elves, Amalia would famously come to his aid despite her mistreatment, and forgive him. So moved was Eldarath, that he swore fealty to Amalia and would lead Exalted Marches against the magic forces as one of Her generals.

Amalia would unite many races under her one banner on her divine mission to save the world. In a twist of misfortune, her husband Kertamar would fall prey to jealousy, and betray Amalia, killing her.

As she died, Amalia would reach the Divine and save Them from the Black City, splitting their essence into the Children, Their aspects.

Her followers would defeat Kertamar and found the Empire based on Her teachings.

Faith, Goals and Structure

Faith in Amalia is a unifying force in the Empire that supersedes any affiliation to race or land, for those who worship her are her children. Many seek her favour and love when they lack it in their life, or to seek comfort during times of hardship.

Amalia is seen as both a historical figure and a deity, and is venerated as the mother of all living things who gave her life to save her children. Many priests and other dedicated to Amalia learn healing arts as it is seen as a natural way to practice her love.

Many of the soldiers and followers of the imperial armies during its expansion fought to abolish slavery, and used their faith in Amalia for strength.
