"My kin, my children, my time will soon come. When I pass on, mourn me not, for I will watch over you all forever." - Raimeth
Everyone in all the realms knows the mythical story of Old Raimeth—The Ancient Dragon who fought The Pantheon of the Nine to a standstill. The Shattered Peaks existed long before the gods were born, shrouded in a mist that protected them from divine scrutiny. Upon discovering this realm, the gods decided to place the undead created by Strain there to keep them from interfering while they constructed the other planes. The mysterious Dragons lurking beneath the Shattered Peaks were displeased with the gods tainting their home with these corrupted souls. Raimeth, the eldest of all the Dragons, presented his grievances to the gods. At that time, the Pantheon of the Nine had never encountered a Dragon, as these creatures were masters at hiding in the fog beneath the mountaintops. The gods attempted to remove the Dragons, but their divine power was unable to smite the Ancient Dragons. The Pantheon of the Nine descended to the Shattered Peaks in their physical forms, where they found Raimeth waiting for them. A battle that lasted a century ensued, and the gods struggled to overcome Raimeth, who stood firm on the realm’s highest peak. On the final day of their confrontation, Omar, the God of Duty, launched a mighty spear at Raimeth’s heart. This last attack required every ounce of Omar's divine power. Raimeth’s anguished roar summoned the other Ancient Dragons to his aid. The gods soon realized they could not defeat these Ancient Dragons, who were as powerful and ancient as they were. Consequently, the gods ceased their assault, and to make amends for the damage they had caused, they created a people in the dragons’ image. Using the Dregs and Tieflings as a template, they crafted the Dragonborn to apologize to the Dragons. Many who visit Raimeth’s open grave experience visions of his epic battle, a powerful experience for anyone, especially his descendants. After the battle, a city was built by Raimeth’s kin, as he was left incapacitated by the mortal wound he had received. He spent the remainder of his days contentedly watching his people build a magnificent city around him while he drifted off into the peaceful slumber of death over the course of many thousands of years. In addition to this remarkable story, the city boasts a vast printing facility, allowing the production of numerous books. Its architecture is among the most magnificent in the Shattered Peaks, with many impressive buildings gifted by Raimeth’s sister, Syvi. The clan speakers also reside in Raimeth’s city as a sign of respect for the martyred Dragon.
