Enviroment

Phoenix is known for its extreme heat, which is its most striking feature. The entire realm consists of blistering deserts, tropical seas, and sweltering jungles. Despite these harsh conditions, Phoenix's landscape can create some of the most beautiful sights in all of Gevadun. Even the mystical vistas of Sindare cannot compare to the expansive views from the top of a large mountain in Phoenix. Don’t be fooled; while they may be beautiful, the deserts of Phoenix will swallow men whole and leave nothing but bones and dust. The surging Ash Cleft is the only other place that rivals it in terms of heat-induced dangers. In Phoenix, two major powers vie for dominance: The Raxudia Trading Dynasty and The Alomod Merchant Guilds. These factions work tirelessly against each other to become the premier merchants across the realms. Additionally, there is a third influential figure known as the Phoenix Speaker, a mysterious individual responsible for overseeing the realm.

People

Phoenix is ancestrally home to two of Gevadun's races: the Gnomes and the Halflings. While both are physically short and originate from Phoenix, their similarities essentially end there. Halflings are known for being jovial, adventurous, thrifty, and filled with wanderlust. These traits are particularly evident in some of the most successful Halfling traders. Halfling culture celebrates economic success and risk-taking. In contrast, Gnomes are primarily thinkers; they tend to be reserved, inquisitive, apprehensive, and skilled tinkerers. Gnomes celebrate innovation and creativity, focusing more on intangible achievements than economic success. Compared to Halflings, Gnomes are more introverted, but they are also more creative. The cultures of Gnomes and Halflings are closely intertwined, and this connection is reflected in their architecture. Both Gnomish and Halfling buildings are characterized by massive sandstone structures that symbolize the accomplishments achievable through their collaboration. Despite their size, these buildings are incredibly ornate, featuring intricate carvings and inlays of metals such as copper and bronze. Phoenix's architecture is designed to enhance airflow and maintain cool temperatures.

Government

Phoenix's politics are the least contentious among all the realms. The two major governments prioritize wealth generation and healthy trade; beyond that, there is minimal political maneuvering. These governments adopt a highly laissez-faire approach, allowing both the people and the traders to determine the best course of action for the realm.
