Enviroment
Sindare is the most magical place in the realms, both literally and figuratively. It is the second-oldest realm in terms of societal development, surpassed only by The Shattered Peaks. Sindare boasts some of the most breathtaking landscapes in existence, including floating islands, dense, dark woods, crystal fields, mushroom forests, and rolling hills. Three large monarchies govern Sindare, and each kingdom consists of an extensive collection of noble houses. The realm is home to various types of Elves, all of whom can trace their lineage back to Sindare. This includes Drow, High Elves, Eladrin, and anything else that can be described as "Elvish." The magical aura of Sindare makes it an ideal location for wizards and other mages to practice their skills. The magic in the air is almost palpable, contributing to the realm's captivating and enthralling atmosphere.
People
Sindare is the ancestral home of all Elves, and while there are numerous Elves, they can generally be categorized into three main types: Dark Elves, High Elves, and Wood Elves. A few Elves fall outside these categories and require their own in-depth anthropological studies. High Elves are characterized as calculated, elegant, detached, and insatiable. They strive to maintain a professional and composed demeanor at all times, yet they experience emotions just like any other race. High Elf culture values prudence and discipline, strongly emphasizing competition and achievement. Expectations for members of High Elf society, particularly in the magical arts, are exceptionally high. Wood Elves, on the other hand, are carefree, grounded, outgoing, and crafty. They are skilled and sociable, emphasizing harmony with nature and advocating for conservation and balance. While Wood Elf culture promotes the responsible use of natural resources, it does not advocate for their complete avoidance. Dark Elves are known to be observant, debauched, spiteful, and unscrupulous. They are often called the “Roses of Sindare” due to their sightly appearance and abrasive nature. Dark Elf culture shares similarities with High Elf culture, particularly in its focus on success in magical pursuits. However, it promotes cunning, deceit, and individuality as virtues.
High Elf architecture is distinct, as the northwestern corners of Sindare feature many floating islands and a cliff-laden landscape. This terrain has led the High Elves to construct incredibly tall buildings made from massive stone bricks, topped with impressive metal spires. Their architecture incorporates geometric shapes and gentle curves, resulting in remarkable structures that reach for the sky. These buildings are primarily made of neutral-colored stones and adorned with large, brightly colored tapestries and banners. In contrast, Wood Elf architecture is designed to blend seamlessly with the environment. Wood Elves typically inhabit densely wooded areas, resulting in minimalistic, naturally inspired structures. These buildings often have wood or mud walls topped with thatched roofs, featuring many windows that allow natural light to filter in. A defining characteristic of Wood Elf architecture is the incorporation of living plants; particular tree species are coaxed, manipulated, and cultivated together to create buildings that grow over time, resulting in living wooden structures. Dark Elf architecture adopts a different style, utilizing ebonized wood, dark stones, and metals to create blocky buildings with sharp, harsh angles. The abundance of natural metals found in southeastern Sindare allows for building sturdy buildings reinforced with metal struts and supports. Dark Elf buildings are often crowned with large metal spires with pronounced tips, making the cities appear reminiscent of a row of spikes from a distance. Deep colors, particularly dark blues and robust reds, are commonly used to accent their architectural designs.
