Thundertown is an unusual place when it comes to natural phenomena. Hot underwater volcanoes heat the Bay of Plenty, but the cold air surrounding the bay creates a near-constant fog that blankets most banks. The combination of low and high-pressure zones caused by the persistent clouds and fog results in a seemingly endless storm that hovers over Thundertown nearly every day of the year. On average, only 12 days a year are clear in Thundertown, and the city celebrates these rare occurrences by calling off work and throwing an impromptu festival. Beyond the weather, Thundertown is quite similar to Nautilia Deep, albeit on a smaller scale. Despite the challenging conditions, Thundertown's capital ventures remain relatively successful. There is a school for evokers eager to gain a deeper understanding of lightning and storms. While Bail is not known for its academics, the University of Storms, situated in Thundertown, is staffed with clever faculty and fine facilities.
