Chasm Entities

Whispers from the Chasm

For those with knowledge of the eldritch, the concept of Foul entities is often immediately linked to The Chasm. Even among the general population, the myth of creation and the existence of The Chasm is well-known. However, details about The Chasm are scarce, mainly because The Divine Church of the Ash Cleft goes to great lengths to suppress any information regarding it. While the entities that dwell within The Chasm are typically viewed as malicious and insane, this characterization is not always accurate.

The Murderer (LE)

The Murderer is a malignant entity that resides deep within The Chasm. It enjoys the murder of living beings and the spilling of blood in general. The Cults of The Murderer are usually composed of various Psychopaths. The Murderer sheds no favor on assassins and hired killers because they kill for monetary gain. The Murderer only loves those who kill for bloodlust, those who kill just to watch the blood pool on the floor. Death and sorrow are left in the Murderer's wake, highlighting the more destructive side of the Foul.

The unholy symbol for the Murderer is a blood drop with a triangle in the middle of it. The Murderer is said to take up the form of a gaseous cloud with glowing red eyes and a hooded cloak wrapped around it.

Molten Hate (CE)

The Molten Hate is the final heart of the Galactic Rage, an inextinguishable core of cosmic fire that gave birth to both the Gods and the Foul. It is believed to reside at the very center of The Chasm, where it has remained for billions of years. While this is mainly speculative, some claim that the Molten Hate may be the most powerful entity to have ever existed. There are claims that it could defeat Olock, the pinnacle of Orkish power and divinity, who stands as a rival to all Nine Divine.

Every other powerful entity within The Chasm has originated from the Molten Hate, and its influence remains vast. All Chasm born Foul can trace their lineage back to the Molten Hate in some manner. Mortal servants of the Molten Hate spread chaos purely for chaos’s sake, often targeting churches to avenge the Gods for imprisoning the Molten Hate in The Chasm. Just as Omar is the chief of The Pantheon of the Nine, the Molten Hate is the de facto chief of the Chasm.

The unholy symbol of the Molten Hate is a bull skull with three lines running down its front. Its physical form is described as a chaotic blend of rock and magma, constantly twisting and churning while discharging both blood and lava. From its mass, a giant eyeball protrudes on a stalk, scrutinizing the world around it.

Seething Agony(TN)

The Seething Agony is a Chasm entity that exists in a state of relentless pain and cannot alleviate its suffering. Two branches of cults serve the Seething Agony. One branch seeks out individuals in distress or pain, aiming to ease their suffering so that others do not have to endure what their master experiences. The other branch inflicts harm on themselves and others, spreading agony throughout Gevadun. These two branches often clash in violent confrontations, as each side believes the other misinterprets the Seething Agony's true intentions. This conflict exemplifies how misunderstanding an entity's identity can lead to division and discord. Due to the nature of this particular Chasm entity, its messages are typically brief, haunting, and cryptic, leaving much open to interpretation.

The Seething Agony's unholy symbol is five barbed hooks hanging from a ring. The Seething Agony's bodily form is described as a giant, humanoid-like skeleton, with flesh constantly being ripped from it by massive, razor-sharp hooks. The flesh of the Seething Agony regenerates eternally, so it can never know the release of death. It is said to dwell deep in the fiery pits of The Chasm, where it is constantly burned and flayed.

The Benevolent Corruptor(CG)

The Benevolent Corruptor is known as the most placid among the major Foul entities that dwell in The Chasm. It offers mutation and change to those who seek its wisdom. Those who accept its gifts become mangled and mutated, but they no longer feel pain; instead, pain becomes an enlightening sensation. The Corruptor can almost always be found in its workshop, called The Studio deep within The Chasm. There, it works on new bodies, mutations, and increasingly twisted, foul beings to care for. These beings are touched by the knowledge the Corruptor has to offer.

Those who embrace this transformation often become outcasts but typically strive to find ways to help the oppressed. They are also known to hunt the Foul that escape The Chasm, as these beings seek to destroy Gevadun and plunge the world into ruin. The Corruptor’s plans and goals are directly affected by these Foul. If all of the mortals from the realms are destroyed, the Corruptor would have no one else to care for and bestow gifts upon. Consequently, the Benevolent Corruptor is quietly applauded by certain groups.

The unholy symbol of the Benevolent Corruptor is a scalpel crossed with a bone. The Corruptor's physical form resembles an elongated, humanoid body with an octopus-like head.
