The Shooting Stars
The entities among the stars are among the hardest to study, yet they are both enigmatic and powerful. When gazing at the night sky and observing the twinkling stars, one witnesses the endless void. Some entities reside within that expanse, and their origins remain a mystery. The stars hold many secrets, and mortals have only begun to scratch the surface of what lies beyond the veil of Gevadun.
The Court (CN)
The Court is a collective of minor entities that come together to form a larger whole. The components of The Court are the Lord, the Lady, and the Jack, each representing a distinct aspect of its nature. The Lord embodies sovereignty and strength, the Lady exemplifies temperance and modesty, and the Jack symbolizes youth and vigor. These qualities are generally positive and provide a strong foundation for morality.
Unfortunately, some cults that worship The Court have tarnished its reputation, as they believe The Court should replace The Pantheon of the Nine. Many of these cults are fanatical and go to great lengths to promote their beliefs, with some even resorting to acts of terrorism. This has created more fear of The Court than reverence. The messages from The Court to Gevadun are often cryptic, leaving their meanings to be interpreted by star-gazing sages.
The Court's unholy symbol is the same as its physical form, three stars arranged in a triangular formation, each differing in size and color.
The Ace (CG)
The Ace is a unique entity, believed to be the protector of Gevadun from external threats. Although he has a very small following, he is nonetheless powerful. Little is known about The Ace; no one claims to have had direct contact with him—only indirect confrontations. This lack of interaction has made some question whether The Ace is a proper cosmic entity. Other celestial beings have referred to him by name, yet everything we know about The Ace comes from The Court, which communicates in an incredibly cryptic manner. The Ace is said to defend Gevadun against threats beyond the veil.
His holy symbol is the letter "A" inside a six-sided star. He is described as a humanoid figure clad in worn knight's armor.
The Jester (CE)
The Jester is a malignant entity that resides on the dark side of the moon. While The Jester loves humor, it is specifically drawn to dark and depraved comedy. The Jester delights in pranks played on unsuspecting individuals. A harmless prank, such as sticking a sheet of paper with an obscene word on someone, would entertain The Jester. However, a more dangerous act, like dropping an anvil on a passerby from a three-story building, would also be far more amusing to The Jester.
A cult or individual who worships The Jester typically starts with minor pranks and jokes. Over time, these pranks become more depraved and deranged, causing the cult to be vilified and hunted. As long as someone is laughing, The Jester also enjoys a good laugh. It is said that The Jester sits on the moon, watching over us and chuckling for eternity. Ironically, The Jester communicates with the people of Gevadun more effectively than other entities from the stars. Messages from The Jester often come in the form of dreams or nightmares.
The Jester's unholy symbol is a crescent moon. The Jester is said to take the physical form of a court jester with a massive grin.
