Enviroment
The geography of Felder is characterized by rolling fields, expansive steppes, frozen tundras, and boreal forests, all of which give way to tall mountains. The climate is generally cold, and large herds of beasts roam the land. The inhabitants of Felder are as tough as the environment they live in. The Orks, who are historically from this region, are known for their resilience and brutality. The Goliaths also inhabit Felder; they share a barbaric nature similar to that of the Orks. These profoundly spiritual yet formidable Goliaths complement the Orks. Additionally, the Dwarves originate in Felder, with their most significant and esteemed stronghold, Stone Home, located here. While Felder can be a harsh and indifferent land, it possesses a naturalistic and simple beauty that is undeniable.
People
Felder is the ancestral home of the Dwarves, Orks, and Goliath. All of these races are incredibly resilient, as the harsh conditions of Felder demand toughness. Orks and Goliath share many cultural similarities, while Dwarvish culture differs significantly. Orks are known for being straightforward, brutish, savage, and superstitious. In contrast, the Goliaths are recognized for their cleverness, skepticism, piety, and ardor. Although these traits might seem to inhibit good relations, Orks and Goliath tend to be amicable toward each other. This camaraderie is partly due to their shared history and the fact that their differing traits complement each other. Ork culture values adherence to tribal traditions, self-reliance, strength, and deep spirituality. Orks can be incredibly cold and calculated, but are rarely intentionally cruel. Meanwhile, Goliath culture emphasizes strength and self-reliance, but also values innovation, inquiry, and curiosity. On the outside, Goliath seem intimidating and rough, but they are generally filled with wonder and curiosity. Dwarves are usually industrious, stubborn, intolerant, and intelligent. Dwarves are slow to trust but loyal to their friends and family. Their culture values collectivism, respect for tradition, technological innovation, and a sense of merriment. One overarching trait that every race in Felder shares is a tight-knit family structure with strong values.
Goliath and Ork architecture are relatively similar; they utilize the hides of massive beasts to create tents and huts. Rough-cut timber supports the stone structures of the most important buildings. However, in larger Ork cities and the coldest Goliath towns and cities, construction has often shifted to larger, sturdier permanent structures due to time and environmental conditions. In contrast, Dwarven architecture is characterized by grand citadels that Dwarves dig and construct. They create vast underground cities adorned with beautifully cut stone reliefs and statues. Dwarven citadels can reach heights of hundreds of feet and feature countless halls that offer every amenity expected in one of Gevadun's premier cities. Wealthier citadels are often decorated with gold and other precious metals, incorporating Dwarvish mechanical marvels to enhance their functionality.
