Bersang is the pinnacle of a city where the Foul coexist with the living. The Foul who inhabit Bersang include beings like Arcanaloths, Yugoloths, and various Devils, all of whom can be reasoned with and bargained with. The city attracts visitors from far and wide, as it is one of only two locations in The Chasm that offers natural access to the rest of Gevadun. People come to Bersang seeking knowledge, arcane power, wealth, and other ambitions, often making deals with the Foul to realize their dreams. Bersang is governed by a cabal of ancient Arcanaloths and Devils who have hoarded knowledge and maintained records for millennia. Situated atop a peninsula of ash at the highest peak, Bersang overlooks the ash-filled clouds of The Chasm. This elevated position provides an unobstructed view of the hellish landscape below, which many find twistedly beautiful. Unlike the citizens of St. Sorrow, the people of Bersang have embraced their existence as Shades and have chosen to work alongside the Foul. This acceptance has contributed to the city's growth and success. While generally reviled by the rest of the realms, Bersang is not any more inherently malicious or dangerous than any other city.
