"These venerable halls are the cradle of all Dwarves. We call her Stone Home, because she is our mountain mother." - A Stone Home council member
Stone Home is a Dwarven citadel located deep within the mountains of Felder. It is the oldest and deepest of all Dwarven settlements, and the deep halls reaching down to bedrock support this claim. The city is governed by a council of clans, as is customary in Dwarven citadels, and they face significant challenges. Stone Home suffered a devastating blow during the Era of Heroes, losing over half its population. This was due to an infestation of Foul corrupted Ankheg that dwelled deep underground. This was not the first attack on Stone Home; in 1394 of the Era of Heroes, the Dwarves unintentionally excavated a massive Ankheg nest. Although they successfully killed the queen and eradicated the nest, they incurred heavy casualties. The rebuilding process has been complicated, but like the other inhabitants of Felder, the Dwarves are inherently resilient. Despite this tragedy, Stone Home continues to produce some of the finest cut gems and metal goods in the realm. It remains the epicenter of Dwarven culture, technology, and society.
