One of the NPCs from the adventure "The Dragon's Hall", living in Llanybydder.
"We don’t rush to conclusions every time someone forgets to come home. We deal in facts, not fear. And as far as I’m concerned, there’s no crime in choosing to leave town."
Kynt is the reeve of Dragonsbreach Hall and the dwarf responsible for law and order in the surrounding region. He has declined to investigate Faerval Illuban’s disappearance, given the dangers involved. He believes, due to the available evidence, that she has been taken by a gang of kobolds, but has sent word to the capital to request aid. Kynt sees his role as a bulwark against chaos and emotion-driven decision-making, and believes that to act without certainty is to invite trouble.
Description
Kynt is a square-jawed dwarf in his forties with sharp cheekbones and a perpetually furrowed brow. He wears a sleeveless tabard bearing the crest of Dragonsbreach over fine, if austere, clothing. His brown hair and beard is cropped short, and his dark eyes have the narrowed focus of someone who doesn’t miss much, and doesn’t appreciate interruptions.
Traits and Motivations
Coldly logical, meticulous, and deeply skeptical, Kynt distrusts dramatics and emotional appeals. He believes that order is only possible when rules are followed, and considers Everlain Illuban’s public outcry to be unbecoming and disruptive. That said, he is not cruel, merely inflexible. If the players present evidence, or earn his respect through competence and calm argument, he may be persuaded to offer assistance. But they’ll need more than pity to move him.
