Rielsed Nearvain

The 'mayor' of the village that sits in front of the gates of Heimglah, he can be encountered for information in the adventure "The Crystal Light".

"You may think Glaston a backwater, but it is a vital artery for dwarven trade. And I, dear friends, am its keeper - for better or worse."

Mayor Rielsed is a composed, aristocratic human in tailored clothes, his voice smooth as silk and precise as a scalpel. Though his accent marks him as nobility from a southern province, his role in remote Glaston is anything but ceremonial - he juggles trade deals, guild disputes, and the uneasy tension between Glaston and the secretive dwarves of Heimglah. Tall, dark-haired, and immaculately groomed, Rielsed commands attention through quiet authority rather than bluster. His motivations are pragmatic: keep trade flowing, keep peace in the village, and ensure nothing disrupts the delicate balance of interests. Whether he sees the party as allies or agitators depends on their discretion - and whether they’re smart enough to keep him informed.

Description

A tall, fine-featured human with well-groomed silver hair and immaculate robes of navy and cream. Carries an ornate ledger at all times, and a thin sword more for show than use. His posture betrays an old injury.

Traits and Motivations

Rielsed is one of the distant sons of a noble house: he speaks with an upper-crust dialect, deliberately polite but distant. He takes his role seriously, and is diplomatic, world-weary, but still committed to Glaston’s prosperity.

He is always on guard. Prefers order and logic over emotion. Tends to refer to people by title and surname.
