A minor NPC that can be encountered in the village outside of Heimglah for the adventure, "The Crystal Light".
"You want ale, board, or bloodied gossip? 'Cause I can offer the first two easy, and the third if your coin’s wet."
Gravel-voiced and barrel-chested, Dervin is a middle-aged dwarf who runs the Crystal Light tavern with the efficiency of a military quartermaster and the hospitality of a barkeep who’s seen every type of trouble roll through town. His accent is thick with the deep vowels of the mountain clans, but he’s worldly enough to talk straight to humans, elves, or tieflings alike. A retired caravan bruiser with a shrewd mind for business, Dervin keeps the tavern running smoothly and holds quiet influence in Glaston thanks to his connections and plain-spoken trustworthiness. He’s happy to talk—if you’ve bought a drink—and has a wry sense of humor about the old city and its secrets. He may even drop the city password, if you’ve earned it.
Description
A barrel-chested dwarf with a dense, braided beard streaked with grey. His apron is always stained with ale, soot, or grease. His left hand is missing two fingers, and he wears a heavy iron ring on the other.
