"The night is windless. The wagons creak louder than they should. The Tempestmen’s armour gleams under no moonlight. One wagon leaks a single thread of black ribbon, dragging behind it like smoke. Wherever it passes, birds stop singing."
The party crosses a path between hamlets and hears a bell ring from nowhere. Then the wagons appear — utterly silent but for their wheels — and one of them slows ever so slightly as it passes the party, though none acknowledge it.
Significant NPCs:
Torlen Myrr – A goat herder who swears one wagon vanished into thin air at a crossroads.
Helda Crosswine – A spy who believes the convoy is collecting forgotten relics from small shrines.
Priest Ald Rallin – A pacifist who once looked into the wagons… and cannot speak of what he saw. Literally.
Rewards:
A relic fragment wrapped in black silk — mutters a forgotten name when held.
A lead-bound box that muffles all sound within ten feet when opened.
A parchment with the locations of other planned stops — including one near the players’ home.
Lore Tie-Ins:
Faramond’s forces are collecting relics from old chapels, burial cairns, and roadside shrines — especially those tied to forgotten oaths, forsaken gods, or traitorous kings.
