Order of the White Robes

Quite common in Endon, particularly in the smaller towns and villages, are the old churches and chapels erected in the olden days. Many can be dated back to the original kingdom, immediately after the fall of the Ssthessic Vrasa, and the tradition of the churches and the Order of the White Robes is just as old.

They are not dedicated to one particular gods, but were more often used as holy places for simple ceremonies of birth, marriage, and death. The abbots - and abbotesses - keep the buildings in good order, often with the help of clerics or monks, and play host to visiting priests of various gods.

The abbots themselves belong to the White Robes: a holy order, but not a religious one. They are bound to their chapel or church, and give up their names, their histories, and their families to care for their charges.

They are managed by the White Council in Klad, but for a variety of reasons, when a vacancy arises in one of their churches, they will appoint a new abbot from the area, deepening the ties that they already have to the land and the people.
