Goliath Dominion

"And in those mighty days of yore, when the world was young and the mountains were tall, all the world was filled with joy for living. The conflict of the First Ones had yet watered the flesh of Arreia with their blood, and many green forests, rolling fields, and wide valleys grew strong with their spilt power."

-- from "The Days of the Agra-Gol", a Goliath tale

The Goliath Dominion, called by the goliaths the Agra-Gol (meaning 'gathering of the people') was an age in the history of the Valley of Endon when all was ruled by those tall, grey-skinned people. Lasting from roughly 2,200B.E. until 1520B.E., the goliaths consider it to be a golden age for their people, when the Giant Towers and the Agdu were raised and used in earnest.

Besides the Towers and the Cities of the Giants, very little remains of those ancient days, and little is known for certain, due to their aversion to writing. Records on the interior walls of various Towers, though, allude to many heroes, monsters, and encounters with other races - including the fledgling gods and the explorers of Pelivere.

The Dominion ended in 1,520B.E. when the yuan-ti arrived in force from the deserts beyond the Long Strait, and drove the goliaths from the lowlands into the mountains and the downs. Since then, the goliaths have refused to return to the lowlands, but the treaty enforced at the end of the war was respected by the Ssthessic Vrasa, and the goliath territories and structures were left alone.
