🜂 Arcane Vault
Special Facility — Bastion (Shattered Lands)
The Arcane Vault is a magically warded treasury bound into a greater arcane lattice spanning the Shattered Lands. Wealth, relics, and enchanted assets stored within are cataloged, stabilized, and mirrored across the network, allowing secure access from any other Arcane Vault bearing the same sigil matrix.
To the uninitiated, it is a vault.
To those who understand its runes, it is influence made permanent.
📐 Facility Type
Special Facility
(Available only with DM approval; counts as one Bastion facility slot)
🏗️ Requirements
Bastion Tier: DM-determined (recommended Tier 2+)
Must include a Sigil Stone Chamber or equivalent arcane infrastructure
Access to the Arcane Vault network within the Shattered Lands
👤 Hireling
Vault Clerk
A magically bonded administrator trained in sigil-ledgers, arcane valuation, and translocation protocols. Vault Clerks are sworn to neutrality and bound by oath and spell to the integrity of the Vault.
Duties include:
Cataloging stored currency and items
Maintaining arcane wards and sigil locks
Executing Bastion commands
Managing inter-Vault synchronization
✨ Special Feature — Arcane Network Access
The Arcane Vault is linked to all other Arcane Vaults across the Shattered Lands.
Items and wealth stored in one Arcane Vault may be accessed or withdrawn from any other Arcane Vault, subject to DM approval.
This represents arcane transference, not physical travel.
Certain unique, cursed, or plot-critical items may be restricted at the DM’s discretion.
🧾 Bastion Command: Invest
Duration: 1 Bastion Turn (1 month of in-game time)
When you issue the Invest command, the Vault Clerk circulates stored assets through arcane markets, guild-backed ventures, spell-forged trade routes, or faction-aligned enterprises.
You must choose one of the following options when issuing this command:
Option A — Financial Investment
You may invest up to the total value of items and currency currently stored in your Arcane Vault.
At the end of the Bastion Turn, you gain a 2–6% return on the invested value.
The exact percentage is determined by the DM, reflecting market stability, political climate, and narrative events.
Notes:
Returns are typically paid in gold, though the DM may substitute rare materials, favors, or arcane credits.
Invested items are not consumed, altered, or lost, unless explicitly stated by the DM.
This option may not be used more than once per Bastion Turn.
Option B — Faction Investment
Instead of seeking gold, you may choose to invest your Vault’s resources into a specific faction.
Select one recognized faction in the Shattered Lands (guild, order, cult, city-state, or similar).
At the end of the Bastion Turn, you gain 1–2 Renown with that faction.
The exact Renown gained is determined by the DM, based on:
The size of the investment
The faction’s current needs
Ongoing narrative circumstances
Notes:
No gold return is gained when choosing this option.
This represents funding operations, infrastructure, influence, or leverage rather than direct profit.
The faction may later call upon you for favors, protection, or political support as a consequence of your investment.
⚠️ Risks & DM Discretion
Though exceptionally secure, the Arcane Vault is not immune to the shifting forces of the world.
At the DM’s discretion:
Arcane disruptions, war, or instability may affect returns
Network access may be limited during major events
Heavy faction investment may entangle the Bastion in politics, conflict, or obligation
