The Courier’s Post is a fortified dispatch office, message hall, and relay station staffed by trusted runners and sigil-marked messengers. From sealed letters to discreet parcels, the Post ensures communication and delivery across the fractured reaches of the Shattered Lands—by boot, blade, or spell.

In a world where roads are dangerous and truth travels slowly, the Courier’s Post decides what arrives… and what does not.

🏗️ Requirements

• Bastion Tier: DM-determined (recommended Tier 1+)

• Secure storage for parcels and correspondence

• Established routes, contacts, or arcane access approved by the DM

👤 Hireling

Courier

A trained runner, rider, sailor, or arcane-attuned messenger sworn to confidentiality. Couriers may operate openly under sigil and banner, or discreetly in plain clothes depending on the delivery.

Duties include:

• Transporting letters and small items

• Memorizing routes and contacts

• Maintaining seals, codes, and delivery records

• Executing the Deliver command

🧾 Bastion Command: Deliver

Duration: Varies by option (see below)

When you issue the Deliver command, the Courier’s Post is activated to transmit information or goods. Choose one of the following delivery methods:

Option A — Physical Delivery

The Courier personally delivers a message or item through conventional means.

Effect:

• You may send:

  • One handwritten letter, document, or message

  • One small item (DM determines size and restrictions)

• The delivery travels via road, sea, or known routes.

• Delivery time is determined by the DM, based on distance, danger, and narrative conditions.

Notes:

• The courier may encounter risks, delays, or story complications.

• Secrecy, urgency, or high-profile deliveries may attract attention.

• Particularly dangerous routes may require additional protection or cost (DM discretion).

Option B — Arcane Dispatch

Instead of physical delivery, the Courier’s Post channels its arcane infrastructure to transmit a message instantly.

Effect:

• You may cast sending once, without expending a spell slot or material components.

• The message follows all normal rules of the sending spell.

• This option represents sigil-assisted arcane transmission maintained by the Post.

Notes:

• This use does not require the Bastion owner to know or prepare the spell.

• Magical interference, planar barriers, or narrative effects may impact success (DM discretion).

At the DM’s discretion:

• Physical deliveries may be intercepted, delayed, or compromised

• Couriers may return with intelligence, rumors, or warnings

• Repeated or sensitive deliveries may draw faction attention

• Arcane dispatch may fail or distort under extreme conditions
