Player Code of Conduct

Player Code of Conduct for Adult D&D

Cranford Public Library seeks to ensure a safe, respectful, and engaging environment for everyone at the table. By setting clear expectations for behavior, attendance, and participation, the library aims to create a space where all players feel valued, heard, and supported. This document highlights essential principles of respect, communication, and collaboration to help navigate potential issues constructively. Whether new or experienced, all participants are encouraged to adhere to these guidelines to foster a fun and immersive game experience for everyone involved.

  1. Respectful Interaction: No harassment of other players—whether sexual, verbal, or physical. Character interactions should be mindful of everyone’s comfort levels regarding themes of violence and sexuality. Harassment, both at and away from the table, is grounds for expulsion.

  2. Attendance and Notice: If a player is unable to attend a session, they should provide advance notice as soon as possible, preferably at least a day prior. Frequent absences or lack of notice can disrupt the group and may be grounds for expulsion. Life happens, and last-minute issues may arise, but respect for everyone’s time is crucial.

  3. Conflict Resolution: The DM moderates the table. If conflicts arise, involve the DM rather than letting the situation escalate. Personal issues should not affect the group, and the DM has the authority to decide what’s appropriate for table interactions.

  4. Inclusive Storytelling: Every player deserves to be part of the story. If someone’s actions disrupt the experience or if a player is not being included, it is the DM’s responsibility to address and resolve the issue. While equal focus can be challenging, ensuring a positive experience for all is key.

  5. Rules and Judgments: The game follows the system’s rules, with the DM making judgment calls as needed.

  6. Substance Use: Substance use or impairment detracts from the game experience. All players should be sober and ready to engage fully in the session.
