Description
One of the older guilds in Kildar, 'cause hey, you have to move your merchandise to make a profit, right?' Any and all larger scale trading goes through this guild. Not the stuff you buy as a consumer, but the shopkeeper does get his wares from the merchants guild. Any shop with a reputable status shows that it gets its wares from the guild by presenting the guild seal by the door. Any shop without it can be seen as less than reputable. With their large caravans and ships they buy up your produce and transport it to another part of the country where it is needed most. ... And most money is to be had. They are not greedy at all but a bit of a profit has to be made to alleviate the burden of the logistics, the people and the transports themselves.
Locations
The guild has a guild-house in all larger cities and trading posts in most villages. On the main roads you often see wagons or caravans with the guild seal on them and the large freighters sailing the seas with the seal of the guild on their sails is a magnificent view to behold in the ports of Kildar.
Headquarters
This used to be in Torrica, in the 'financial district'... until the city was destroyed. They shifted to Stormhaven, as the next big capital city.
Nowadays it is more of a loosely organised setup and there are headquarters in each of the major cities.
