The Session Sign-Up System of Spelslot (S.S.U.S.S.?)

Welcome to the Session Sign-up System of Spelsot! This guide will provide all the information you need to understand how the system works, from signing up for a session to creating and hosting your own adventure as a DM.

This page covers the essentials for players looking to join a session.

Logging In

To get started, you'll need to access the sign-up website:

  1. Navigate to Signup.Spelslot.nl.

  2. Click the "Log in with Google" button.

  3. Use your existing Google account credentials to log in via Google securely.

Once logged in, you will be taken to the main session selection page.

Understanding Session Information

The main page displays up to seven different sessions available for the current sign-up period. Each session card contains key information to help you make your choices:

Title: The name of the adventure or session.
Description: A brief summary of what the session is about.
Tags: Keywords providing context, such as Factions, Locations, Monsters, and other relevant themes.
Engagement Icons: A set of three icons that indicate the focus of the session. You will see up to three icons for each category, representing the intensity:

  • Dragon Icon: Indicates the amount of Combat.

  • Dungeon Gate Icon: Indicates the amount of Exploration.

  • Mask Icon: Indicates the amount of Roleplay.

Duration: How long the session is expected to run, ranging from a One-shot (1 week) up to 4 weeks for a mini-campaign.

More Details: Click this button for a pop-up with all the session information, including crucial data like the number of player seats available.

Making Your Session Choices

You can indicate up to three choices for the available sessions. This allows the system to assign you to a session that best fits your preference and the available seats.

  1. Review all the session details and decide on your favorites.

  2. On each session card, you will find three buttons: 1, 2, and 3.

  3. Click the 1 button on the session you would most like to play. This is your First Choice.

  4. Click the 2 button on your second most desired session. This is your Second Choice.

  5. Click the 3 button on your third choice. This is your Third Choice.

You can change your choices at any time before the sign-up deadline. The system will automatically save your selections.

The Sign-Up Timeline

The Spelslot sign-up system operates on a strict weekly schedule. It's essential to be aware of the key deadlines:

  • The sign-up deadline for one-shots is the Saturday night before that weeks scheduled one-shot at 23:59h.

  • The sign-up deadline for month-shots is the Saturday night before the first session of the month at 23:59h.

If you miss the sign-up deadline, you can email Tim at [email protected] to be put on the bottom of the waiting list.

Each Sunday at 12:00 (noon), session seat assignment is automatically released. You can log back into https://signup.spelslot.nl/#/ to see in which session you have been placed.

Post-Assignment Release Information

Once the assignments are released on Sunday at 12:00, log back into the website to view the details of your placement. You will be able to see:

  • Your Assigned Session: The session you will be playing in.

  • The DM (Dungeon Master): The name of the DM who will be running your game.

  • Your Fellow Players: The names of the other players assigned to your session.

  • The Room: The physical (or virtual) location where your session will take place.

Future Feature: Push Notifications & Cancellation button

We are currently working on adding Push Notification capabilities to the sign-up system. In the future, you will be able to opt-in to notifications that will:

  • Alert you when new sessions are posted and available for sign-up.

  • Send a reminder to submit your choices before the Saturday 23:59 deadline.

  • Notify you immediately when the assignments are completed and released on Sunday at 12:00.

We are also working on cancellation buttons for cancellations before and after the sign-up deadline.
