Military Guilds

The Military guilds are the dominant power in and around Arland, and their influence extends into the forest through training exercises, patrols, and the protection of key routes. Military guilds also use the forest to test recruits against wild beasts and magical phenomena, with occasional sanctioned hunts or duels conducted under guild supervision.

Knowledge Factions

Magical schools, druidic circles, and scholars form a highly influential faction in Arland and its surrounding forest. These groups study the forest’s mysteries, document magical flora and fauna, and oversee interactions with dangerous species such as owlbears. The OPS maintains strict protocols for the ethical use of wildlife, including the potential deployment of creatures like owlbears in the Colosseum.

Eldritch Inquisition

The Gateway Custodians maintain a modest presence, primarily focused on guarding the portal network. Their authority is limited, as locals tend to trust the Military Guilds more.
