Arland

Arland (Arland Gate) takes its name from the ancient Arland Forest that looms beyond its walls. Over time, people simply began calling it Arland, though its role as a crossroads between sea, forest, magic, and trade remains unchanged. Elven influence is felt everywhere, but nowhere more than in the heart of the Elvish District.

The city is divided into two distinct quarters. The Harbour District is a bustling hub of shipbuilding, trade, and labor, famed for vessels that combine elven knowledge with mortal labor. Though less steeped in magic, even here traces of elven art can be found in ship designs and architecture.

Further inland, the Elvish District is a place of gardens, spires, and schools devoted to magic, art, and philosophy. High Elves and Wood Elves respect one another’s differences: the High Elves value refinement and knowledge, while the Wood Elves uphold raw tradition and instinct. Together, they share the stewardship of the Coloseum – the city’s most iconic landmark. The High Elves host elegant, non-lethal duels of skill, while the Wild Elves organize brutal fights where survival is the only goal, and how you achieve it is left to you.

Arland’s mercenary culture runs deep, with factions tied to the Colosseum, military colleges, and shipwrights’ guild ensuring that martial prowess holds as much value as artistry.

Beyond the walls, Arland Forest conceals ancient dangers, hidden Elf settlements protective of their land, and countless mysteries yet to be uncovered. The forest is also rich in natural resources such as valuable alchemical ingredients. Seasoned guides-for-hire offer their services to those brave or foolish enough to venture through the perilous woods. But survival is never guaranteed, and even the best guides cannot protect against every threat.
