Owlbear Den is a rough and tumble tavern in Riverbend where questions aren’t asked and discretion is valued. Known for its good beer but terrible service, it's a gathering spot for the desperate and the dangerous. The food is questionable, the screams from the back room are ignored, and the services offered range from weapons to dubious potions.
The Owlbear Den is a dark, smoky, and crowded place where only the tough or reckless dare to tread. The patrons of this tavern are as rugged as the establishment itself— a ragtag assortment of mercenaries, criminals, bounty hunters, and those with pasts they'd rather forget. The den is alive with the hum of secret dealings and hushed conversations, the air thick with tension and mistrust.

Patrons
Adventurers
Looking for work? Looking for rest? The Owlbear Den is the place where weary adventurers come after a long journey, and where the well rested adventurers find new jobs to take on.
The Mercenaries
A group of hardened warriors, their armor battered and weapons well-worn, gather around a large table in the corner. They eye everyone who enters with suspicion, their hands never far from their swords or axes. These are veterans of countless battles, with scars to prove it, and they radiate a constant readiness for violence.
The Bounty Hunters
Cloaked figures sit in shadowed booths, each with a different mark they’re hunting. Their eyes gleam with calculation, sizing up potential clients or targets that might wander in. Parchments detailing wanted criminals occasionally slide across the sticky wooden tables. Some wear exotic garb, others tattered leathers; all carry a dangerous aura.
The Rogue and Thieves
A wiry halfling slips between the tables, their fingers quick to lift a coin purse or two when no one’s looking. The rogues and thieves frequenting the Den are an unpredictable bunch, ranging from smiling tricksters to silent assassins. They come here for a drink, a job, or a chance to unload stolen goods without too many questions.
The Desperate
Seated at the bar are men and women down on their luck, their faces lined with despair. Some are on the run, hiding from past mistakes or dangerous enemies. They drink the cheap ale with shaky hands, hoping for an opportunity to escape their misfortunes, though few find salvation here.
The Alchemists and Shady Merchants
In the farthest corner of the tavern, away from the dim light of the few flickering torches, strange figures sell peculiar wares—vials of glowing liquid, strange herbs, and trinkets of dubious origin. Some of these merchants are alchemists, dealing in experimental potions that might just as easily kill as cure. Others are black marketeers peddling illegal weapons or magical items.
The Magic-Users
A couple of figures cloaked in deep robes sit silently at a table near the hearth. Their eyes burn with the glow of arcane knowledge. These mages and warlocks come here for the same reasons as everyone else, but their presence is unnerving; magic and violence often follow them wherever they go. Whispers of dark deals with demons or spirits follow in their wake.
The Regulars
Regulars have carved out their own place in the chaos of the Den. They drink, laugh, and occasionally brawl. They’re mostly left alone, because of the respect they earned through their many years of patronage.
The Adventuring Parties
A mix of races and classes gather around some tables—small groups of adventurers between missions, dirty from their travels and smelling of the road. They trade stories of dangerous quests and lost treasures, their voices rising above the din of the tavern as they plan their next foray into the unknown.
The Owlbear Den is a place where power and desperation meet. Every patron carries their own secrets, and no one here stays for long without a reason.
Rooms
Seven basic rooms, each with five beds and little else. They’re functional, not comfortable, and are often used by those who need a place to lie low or sleep off a night of heavy drinking.
