Kildarian Retreat

Description:
As Hadar’s shadow grew across the planes, the Fey grew fearful of its corruptive influence. Unwilling to risk their realm’s unravelling, the Archfey and their courts took drastic measures: sealing the gates of the Feywild from the Material Plane. The Fey retreated behind their shimmering borders, closing themselves off from mortals and otherworldly powers alike.

Significance:
This event marked the first time in recorded history that the Feywild willingly withdrew from the wider cosmos. Many mortals who once relied on Fey pacts, bargains, and crossings found themselves abruptly abandoned. Songs, stories, and traditions tied to the Fey faded into legend, while scholars debated whether the Fey had vanished entirely.

Aftermath:
The Feywild entered an age of seclusion. Fey crossings became inert, portals dissolved, and even archfey patrons grew silent. On the Material Plane, the sudden absence of Fey magic left lingering scars: forests grew quiet, enchanted glades withered, and fey-touched bloodlines waned. For a century, mortals looked upon the Fey as little more than myth.
