The Assignment Algorithm

The system runs a complex, multi-round assignment process after the sign-up deadline (Saturday at 23:59) to fill all available player seats. This algorithm ensures that players with higher Karma scores are prioritized.

How does the signup priority system work?

When signing up for sessions, you can assign priorities 1, 2, or 3 to different sessions. The assignment system processes players in multiple rounds:

1. DM-requested players who signed up

2. Players continuing from previous sessions

3. Story players sorted by karma on story sessions

4. All players ranked by karma, assigned to their highest priority available session
   All players ranked by karma, assigned to their second priority available session
   All players ranked by karma, assigned to their third priority available session

5. Remaining players ranked by karma, assigned to any available session

6. Everyone else goes to the waiting list

Higher karma gives you better chances, but your priority choices matter too!

To clarify:

• If a low karma player is the only one who has a certain session as 1st priority, they will get in that session ahead of higher ranked players that chose it as 2nd priority.
