Description

The year 0 marked a turning point in the history of Kildar, and the start of the Royal Kildarian Calendar. A series of cataclysmic events reshaped the land and set the stage for a new era. The once-serene landscape was transformed into a living nightmare when a massive earthquake struck, followed by devastating tsunamis and volcanic eruptions that decimated much of the continent.

The earthquake, a force of nature of unparalleled magnitude, shook the foundations of Kildar, causing widespread destruction. Dwarven Strongholds were buried in rubble, City walls collapsed, roads were severed, and the land was riven with fissures. The tsunamis that followed swept across the coast, inundating settlements and leaving behind a trail of devastation.

Volcanic eruptions, both on the mainland and on nearby islands, added to the chaos. Ash clouds darkened the sky, blocking sunlight and causing temperatures to plummet. Lava flows consumed entire villages, and toxic gases poisoned the air. The once-fertile lands of Kildar were transformed into a barren wasteland, and many of its inhabitants perished in the disaster. Much of the pre-Medvedov history was buried that day.

Significance

The utter destruction of Kildar wiped away nearly all traces of the civilizations that existed on Pre-historic Kildar.

The eruption of Inferno Mountain is also what forced Sova Medvedov to seek a new home for her people, leading to the Medvedov Conquest and Medvedov Rule.

Aftermath

Though the destruction and loss was catastrophic, the Great Cataclysm is what shaped Kildar into how we know it today.
