Fayde's Wondrous Wares

Items for sale

By following this link you can have a look at Fayde's vast inventory.

There are some limitations to what Fayde will sell to you though.

  • Fayde only gets her inventory from trustworthy sources by the codenames: DMG, XGTE and TCOE.

  • Fayde will happily sell common magical items to all.

  • Fayde is wiling to sell uncommon items to adventurers who have proven themselves worthy by reaching level 5 and higher. She somehow instinctively knows when this happens.

  • Fayde is wiling to sell rare and very rare items to adventurers who have proven themselves by reaching level 9 or higher. But she does not have everything in her inventory. She estimates there is a 50% chance she will have a specific rare item. And a 25% chance she will have a specific very rare item. She updates her inventory at the start of each month. So an adventurer can try to find a specific item in her inventory once per month.

  • Fayde vets all of her customers. Players that have ill intent will simply lose interest in entering her premise. Every thief came home with illusory items and violence will dissolve the shop into nothingness. A mere illusion.

  • There have always been rumors and conspiracy theories about the existence of beings of immense power pulling the strings of even the Gods! Should an item bought suddenly (temporarily) stop working during an adventure, it might be because these 'greater unknown entities' have ruled that your item specifically was deemed too overpowered in the games these entities play with us. Should this happen, you may file a return ticket at Fayde's front desk to get your money back, as long as you've kept your receipt of purchase that is.

  • Fayde will buy magic items off of the players for 50% of their value. She will also buy the magical components to craft magical items off of the players at full price e.g. 50% of the value of the finished magical item.

The shop

Stormhaven’s high-end haven for the wealthy and refined, Fayde’s Wondrous Wares is a magical emporium like no other. The shopfront itself is a spectacle designed to draw the eye: an elegant façade of polished mahogany, adorned with swirling gold filigree that seems to shimmer and shift when viewed from different angles. Above the double doors—crafted from enchanted crystal that reflects rainbows when struck by sunlight—hangs a gilded sign that reads “Fayde’s Wondrous Wares” in looping, enchanted script, sparkling faintly with prismatic light.

The interior is a kaleidoscope of organized chaos. Shelves soar to the high-vaulted ceiling, crammed with magical trinkets, potions, scrolls, and rarities of all kinds. Floating lanterns illuminate the shop in warm, golden light, their movements synchronized with the enchanted music softly playing from a violin that bows itself in one corner. Each item is meticulously labeled with an elaborate tag describing its properties in Fayde’s distinct calligraphy. The air is fragrant with a mix of sandalwood, lavender, and ozone, giving the sense that the shop itself might be alive with magic.

The Shopkeeper: Fayde the Incantifier

Fayde, the enigmatic owner was once an adventurer during the Unbidden crisis. In a wish she made in the caverns of Zygax to whom she calls 'her creator', she managed to procure ownership over Wilmore's magic emporium in Stormhaven. Fayde came from outside of Faerun and it is rumored she still has many contacts amongst the planes. Fayde looks like a colorful and happy go lucky gnome illusionist of median age. She likes to dress in the latest fashion from Sigil and acts like a true metropolitan.

Fayde is very interested in meeting and helping the players. She loves to hear about the stories that all the adventurers can tell her and gives them bits of advice and help if they ask. She does her utmost best to make every encounter a memorable meeting. She would say it keeps her alive. Fayde sees the world as a beautiful story, told by all. She encourages her costumers to embark on the grand adventure that is life.

Despite her flair, Fayde is no mere salesman. Beneath the niceness lies a powerful wizard with an unrivalled knowledge of the world around her. She doesn't suffer fools or rude costumers.

Quirks and Tidbits

  • Magical Flair: Fayde uses lots of magic to make her life better. Unseen servants zoom around the shop. Animated objects move on their own. She seems to always know what people's intentions are and some of the things that happen in her shop seem to almost defy logic.

  • Her Beholder Familiar: Fayde has a tiny Gazer as a familiar. The gazer loves to talk to the players and has dreams of one day becoming a full blown beholder.

  • Selective Customer Service: While Fayde welcomes all customers, she has a particular knack for upselling the wealthiest of Stormhaven’s elite and can immediately sense when someone is bluffing about their ability to pay.

Fayde’s Wondrous Wares is more than a shop—it’s an experience, a destination that adventurers and nobles alike remember long after their visit, whether due to the incredible items they purchase or the unforgettable showmanship of its enigmatic owner.

Rumors

Rumors abound that Fayde's entire shop is an elaborate illusion. There is in fact no way to have a shop with so much magic. Items seem new, almost created out of thin air. Or maybe they were made in another plane of existence. The only one who truely knows would be Fayde herself and she would tell you that is a trade secret.

Those who tried to break into the shop have found an empty warehouse filled with living phantasmal killers. Costumers have complained they feel like somebody is peering into their minds before they are allowed to enter. Those with ill intent simply stop wanting her items.

  • There has never been proof of these greater unknown entities and your character will forget he ever bought or sold said item because it did not work anymore. Reality for your character is literally rewritten so that this purchase never took place.
