During Campaign 3, six factions are most influential and iconic in Kildar.
The Eldritch Inquisition
The Eldritch Inquisition is an organization that above all seeks to bring order and stability to the chaotic nature of magic, through hunting evil spellcasters, breaking curses and nullifying chaotic magic. They have also been put in charge of protecting the portal network, which is vital for the economy of kildar.
Knowledge Factions
This diverse coalition of factions seek to research and explore the unknowns of the world. Within the knowledge factions, there are three sub-groups: The Druid Circles of Kildar (incl O.P.S. and other nature-based factions) The Intellectual Institutions of Kildar (Libraries, Universities, Scribes Guild, Healers, Explorers), and the Conclave of Mages (Mage Guild, Fortune Tellers, alchemists).
Commerce Factions
Headed by the merchants guild, these guilds seek to exploit Kildar’s resources for commercial gains. Includes the guilds of: Farmers, Miners, Bakers, Alchemists, Smiths, Jewelers, Messengers, Navigators, Merchants, Bankers.
Military Guilds
Led by the Mercenary Guild, this block has gained power, wealth and influence to keep the Kildarians (who can afford their services) safe. Adventurers guild, bounty hunters, smiths, shipwrights, navigators, diplomats, and adventurers.
The Fey
While Lady Elaine and her followers have had a foothold in the south of Kildar for over 80 years in Anfyn. With the Hadar crisis now long in the past and the Fey return with their weird and whimsical magic, integrating themselves in Kildarian society, Guilds and nobility. While expanding the mixed-plane territory of Anfyn and founding new (or taking over existing) settlements across Kildar.
Shadowfellians
After generations of oppression by Umbraxis, the shadowfell denizens are free under the guidance of Morwen and have started to settle in Kildar. Haunted by their past, they face an enormous culture shock of freedom, joy and purpose and vow never to be oppressed again.
