Eilistraee is a drow goddess, known for her advocacy of redemption, kindness, and the desire to bring her people, the drow, back to the surface to live in peace and harmony. As the goddess of beauty, song, and moonlight, she encourages her followers to spread joy, help those in need, and oppose evil, particularly the oppressive rule of Lolth.

Born to Corellon Larethian, the god of the elves, and Araushnee (who later became Lolth), Eilistraee's relationship with her parents is complex. After Araushnee's betrayal and banishment, Eilistraee chose to follow her mother into exile, seeking to guide and aid the dark elves who had fallen under Lolth's rule. This self-imposed exile was motivated by her deep love for the drow and her belief in their potential for goodness.

Eilistraee's faith centers on freedom, creativity, and a nurturing connection to nature. Her followers, often marginalized drow, fight for good while celebrating life through art, dance, and music. Worship of Eilistraee offers an alternative to Lolth's tyranny, seeking to reconnect the dark elves with the surface world and their elven heritage. Her teachings emphasize personal choice, freedom from oppression, and the importance of community.
