Genasi
/

Description

Genasi’s are humanoid creatures with a connection to one of the four elements; water, fire, earth and wind. They resemeble humans but have an unusual skin color resembling the element they have a connection with, this can be a red, green, blue or gray skin colour.  Those of earth or water descent tend to be heavier, while those of air or fire tend to be lighter. A given genasi might have some features reminiscent of the mortal parent (pointed ears from an elf, a stockier frame and thick hair from a dwarf, small hands and feet from a halfling, exceedingly large eyes from a gnome, and so on).

Culture

Genasi’s are born from djinn from the elemental planes and humanoids from the material plane (Kildar). The elemental plane is a place of chaos and not possible to live in for habitants of Kildar. The genies/djinns who live on the elemental plane don’t have problems with these conditions and can also visit and live in Kildar. These visits can lead to offspring). Sometimes genesis’ can occur due to exposure to a surge of elemental power, through phenomena such as an eruption from the Inner Planes or a planar convergence.

During the Hadaran Crisis when portals were opened to and from the Feywild (resulting in unleasing the unseelie fey in Kildar. Unbeknown, other portals to other planes were triggered to open. One of these were small portals in the elemental plane, which led to djinn visit Kildar. Some for devious reasons and some to learn about and explore Kildar.

Their children, the genesis, have lived along side the natives of Kildar peacefully, mostly because on of these species were their parents, half siblings and extended families. Due to their djinn nature, they can have causes mischief and a little mayhem in Kildar, but never that it led to horrible casulaties or deaths. And when KIldar was threatheden with the rule of The Grandmother, Genasi’s helped the guilds and the Unbounded to successful defeat The Grandmother. Some in the open and some in the shadows without the public knowing about it. Cause eventhough they originate from two different planes, Kildar offered to be their home and they want to protect it and their inhabitants.

History

Genasi almost never have contact with their elemental parents. Genies seldom have interest in their mortal offspring, seeing them as accidents. Many feel nothing for their genasi children at all. They are self-sufficient creatures due to this. There are not specific places were genasis’ live, they are scattered across Kildar and live in villages, cities, hamlets or alone in the wild. Genasi seldom have communities of their own and typically adopt the cultures and societies into which they are born.
